Hello Friends,

It is exciting to be here after a long time.

Today, I have two cards and a wall decor created using one stamp set. When this Fill In Phrases by Concord & 9th was released, I knew I wanted it as good quotes are my weakness. This one has really unique quotes and they are quite large. Perfect for large cards or frames.

For the first card (5 x 7”) , I stamped the sentiment on a small panel and distress stripes on base card in versafine onyx black. I inked a bit larger panel with cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon & blueprint distress inks.

I also added 3 enamel dots and 2 foil paper corners to finish off the card.

The second card is inspired totally by the sentiment.

I embossed sentiment in copper embossing powder on a kraft cardstock and cut it using stitched die. I mixed some embossing paste with yellow, red and blue inks and applied through memory box radio wave stencil. Sides were masked using Blue masking tape. I also used red heart at the centre of waves to enhance the design.

Third project is an old frame. I love this collage frame which my mom had. They were keeping old pics of their grand childrens in there. I thought of giving it a new look and will give my dad on Father’s day! For them, their grand children are the centre of their lives. They remember every single moment of my son Ishan’s childhood. I just love how their faces lit up just with a mention of his name. So I chose this quote to go with their pictures.

I used water color paper and spiced marmalade, worn lipstick, fossilized amber distress oxides to create this beautiful patina kind of background. I love, love, love distress oxides. It is just magical to see how they react with water. ( TIP : If you want really prominent water marks on your BG, use heat gun for a fraction of moment after you splash water. Heat will help to lift the oxides well.)

Once the BG was dry, I heat emboss the sentiment in gold and outlined with a marker to create shadow effect!

I hope you enjoy the post and use this set to create your own art! Please do share with us your creation.

That is all for today! Have a wonderful day!

Neha
