Diwali Decor: Stretching Traditional Dies

Hi There!

I am Bharati Nayudu and from Handmade Happiness!

I am very excited to be Guest Designing for Ranganjali and sharing ideas for Diwali Decor using their Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set. This die set comes with 4 pieces and a sentiment.

Diwali is a Festival of lights and here are some super easy DIY projects for decorating your house with lights. Wish you all a happy Diwali!!

Project 1 : Small Artificial Candles

For this project i started by die cutting some glitter card stock in different colors using the Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set. I then took two larger rings and adhered one over the other and adhered the same to small artificial candles. I then adhered the gorgeous circular patterns with the intricate design on top of the candle.

Any type of adhesive that dries transparent and adheres paper to plastic will do. I used the good old liquid Fevicol for my projects.

Project 2 : Big Artificial Candle

This project was very simple and fun to make. I had my 11 yr of son also help me in this one. We first die cut some glitter card stock with the same dies from Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set and then we decorated it by adhering the die cut patterns as per our choice.

Here i am using a Big size artificial Candle so that the design is visible against the white base of the candle. You can experiment with the sizes of the candles and the choice of cardstock.

Project 3: Glass Tea Lights

I actually had some of the die cuts left from the previous projects and so i go this idea to use the die cuts as a decorative base for the tea lights. I adhered two die cuts together and then adhered it to the base of the tealight.

Such a small addition makes such remarkable difference and its always fun to have unique ways to deck up the lights.

Project 4: Small Artificial Candles

For this project i used the smaller die from the set. I first die cut some card stock with the choice of die. I then cut the die cut pieces into half . I then adhered the pieces around the small artificial candles

I had so much fun making these projects and I am excited to decorate my house with these lovely DIY candles.

These designs are actually quite generic and so I think these candles will look good for all occasions, be it festivals or parties or just a good candle light dinner with your family / friends.

I am going to make a couple more of these and gift them to some of my friends.
