Hello everyone,
I am Ishani from Quillish and am here again with some ideas for you for the upcoming Diwali season. If you have gone through the previous posts, you would know that Ranganjali has launched amazing festive dies and a series of embellishments from sequins to pearls and oh my my..they are amazing! It’s so hard to not embellish everything I make now a days.
Before I share my projects, I would like to thank Ranganjali for giving me this opportunity to guest design for them. I am in love with this release and although, I was required to make three projects, I made four! It’s hard to stop yourself, once ideas start coming
Card 1

This card incorporates the two dies, Ornamental diya and Happy Diwali die. I made the dark pink paper by colouring with re-inkers. I took two re-inkers in two tones of pink and dropped a few drops, spritzed it with water and smooshed on my water colour paper. Then I put some stray brush marks with the Versamark and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I cut Happy Diwali and used the rest as a layer in my card panel. I diecut Ornamental diyas, embossed it with gold embossing powder and stuck them to a white card base.

Then I cut a vellum to cover this white panel adhered the vellum on the left edge and stuck the diecut Happy Diwali. The gorgeous jewel mix for embellishing and I am glad at the way this card looks. Hope you like it too.
Card 2

This is my favourite card, first - because it came out nice and has a religious association and second, because I love this stamp set – Lotus of prosperity. I used no-line colouring technique to colour my Lotus and the bud with my water based – Zig clean colour brush pens (btw they are on SALE at Ranganjali). Now with Lotus, we associate Goddess Laxmi and what else do we associate her with? Wealth and prosperity. So, I mixed gold acrylic paint with glass bead gel and with the stencil made these gold coins (they look like gold coins falling, don’t they?) I die cut an Oval from a side folding cardbase, adhered the stenciled coins with foam tape from inside and from the front, arranged my lotus on foam dots. Now who doesn't want Goddess Laxmi to bless them on Diwali? The sentiment was stamped in dark pink (it is from the same stamp set) and few pearls from the Rainbow Bits Pearl mix to finish the card.

Card 3

The festive lantern die is a versatile die. I played with alcohol inks in some festive colours and die cut the alcohol ink background for giving the look of the coloured glass of the lanterns. I die cut the lantern in the Gold mirror paper and adhered the small pieces of the alcohol ink die cuts. Then to depict the various colours that would light up a place if the a festive lantern were hung, I blended distress inks to give the colourful glow that we get from such lanterns. Happy Diwali sentiment was gold embossed and I used the mirror cardstock to layer on a dark blue card base.

Gift box

The ornamental diya die is what you need to spruce up a simple gift box. I made a box with the We r memory keepers 1-2-3 punch board and decorated it with the Ornamental Diyas cut from the mirror cardstock. Simple and yet so festive, isn’t it? Some dry fruits or mithai in it will make it a perfect gift for your neighbors for Diwali.
This release is amazing and the possibilities with these dies are endless. Dies surely get the projects look more professional and who doesn’t love handmade gifts? Let’s make something for our loved ones, for this Diwali. I hope you are inspired by my projects and will use these dies and try some yourself. Time to wrap up! Happy crafting and a very happy and prosperous Diwali in advance.
Hugs,
